ANZ Securities ( NZ) charge $29 1st $30,000 of trade and then 0.30% for balance. If I was to sell a couple million AVB @17c I would be far better off to sell in 175,000 blocks( $29,750), $29 brokerage each time., rather than dump the whole at once.
I would save several $hundy in brokerage, so IMO it's complete ignorance not to be savvy with your costs.
And, another bonus ? by placing 175000 blocks, in this instance, you have the chance of getting 17.25c / 17.50c for some of your orders, if you wait for the opportunity which appears from time to time ? ..rather than 17c for the whole, ? which makes a big difference to the bottom line.
