Your comments are sound but I don't agree that BHP can wait it out. Their timing for this bid coinciding with a correction in the copper price is more that coincidental. When China puts a halt to their Covid lockdowns, Copper should recover and resume its upward trend. BHP's window of opportunity might be quite small.
