So we already had 2 products under development and most likely from previous announcements from a long time ago, they are Advanced Packaging/Integrated products with a 'possible' launch date of somewhere in 2018 all going well - (this is where all OBJ Shareholders pray together for the first time, that these two products currently under development are indeed Advanced Packaging/Integrated products and not more of the same promotional boosters we have witnessed to date).
We have now added another two 'Product Development Work Plans' (with a 3rd expected in a few months) - 'These new products are scheduled for release in 2019 through P&G’s online and retail distribution channels in China and North America.' - So we are no doubt talking about either an entirely new Olay Product Range or an adaptation to an existing Olay range that has done very well in both China & North America (SK-II is only really huge in Asia, unless P&G are preparing for a major push in North America) like Olay Cellscience, Olay ProX, Olay White Radiance, Olay White Radiance CellScience, or Olay Regenerist etc. And considering that OBJ have not forecast which quarter in 2019 the release will occur; based on past timelines (the two that are currently running behind schedule), it is probable to conclude it will be closer to the end of 2019 for a Christmas/New Year alignment.........especially for the first 'Second Technology Product' which will involve much more thorough and stringent 'consumer & market testing' imo.
'Under the new Work Plans OBJ will design, develop and manufacture working prototypes of the two new products, ahead of consumer and market testing to be conducted in the coming months.' So.........these two new products, once designed, developed, manufactured, consumer trialed, market tested and then a possible repeat of this process dependent on 'consumer and market testing', seem likely to be positioned closer to the end of 2019 imo.
Although today's announcement is magnificent, promising & a sigh or relief in many ways; unfortunately I don't feel it is enough to sustain any short-term share-price gains just yet. The Market imo is still screaming for Revenue and all Revenue from this announcement is at least 1-2 years away (ALL going well). Even if another announcement was released tomorrow for the launch of the two products that were already in development; OBJ gets paid 45 days after the quarter in arrears and we all know the first quarter has been crap to date. And if these two products that were already in development turn out to be NOT Advanced Packaged/Integrated Products (ie more promotional applicators).........then we can all expect more of the lacklustre revenues we have witnessed to date. The June 4C due for release @ the end of July will be a crucial Revenue indicator based on the current negotiated PDA/MLA terms in relation to multiple Brand (SK-II - Olay) & multiple Products (SK-II Magnetic Booster - Olay Magnemasks) for Full quarters. If the volumes aren't there in black & white, imo our only saviour in the interim will be the Research & Development rebate and the one million dollar Stand Still payment due for the second phase of the Second Technology that was promised.
Hopeful2, to be crystal clear here, OBJ currently receives royalties on Wand/Booster sales on their own and with any Cream/Product the Wand/Booster is Packaged with ie - all Promotional Packages/Seasonal Promotions - Christmas, Chinese New Year, Mother's Day etc.........that the wand works with to deliver Niacinamide (B3), Pal-KTTKS etc.
