If my understanding is correct once approval is given by the FDA that drug could be prescribed by a GP for another ailment if she/he thinks it would help.
Quiltman has pointed out there is no treatment for FTD, if Monepantel is approved for MND there may well be a treatment worth trying for FTD especially as there are no side effects.
