For clarity, the term 'marketable parcel' refers to shares valued at >$500. This translates to 596 shares at the $0.84 offer price, but having a slight additional buffer would be advantageous. It is indeed positive to have shares spread across multiple accounts if they're listed separately on the share registry.
As noted by several others, this announcement is practically irrelevant to Pact and serves as another scare tactic to persuade the less informed to accept the offer. This is precisely why the ASX did not categorise the announcement as Market Sensitive. However, it has provided an advantage by allowing Manipur and other parties (including myself) to accumulate additional shares on market.
I still suspect that the offer will be further extended, but the best approach would be to let it expire since each additional extension further delays when a new offer can be announced, and there is clearly demand for continued accumulation above the offer price. Personally, it’s win-win either way.
