    The Palm Valley Gas Field is one of the more significant gas fields discovered in onshore Australia as it not only contains substantial proven reserves of natural gas, but also is the only field predominantly dependent on fractures for productivity. The field was discovered in March 1965 when Palm Valley 1 well flowed up to 11.7 million cubic feet of gas/day from Ordovician sandstones and carbonates.
