From the limiting factor 4680 battery cell tear down. I'm not absolutely certain but I think the generation 2 4680's currently in production are using synthetic but still primarily use natural for greater range in the Cyber truck.

Depending what vehicle Tesla uses the 4680's Panasonic are making in Nevada will determine how much synthetic will be used. As a NVX shareholder I'm glad they are using some synthetic and from us. I've been waiting for this. When they eventually dope the anode with silicon, it will only be ~5%.

Tesla have perfected the dry coating of the anode but are still struggling with heat problems with the cathode. When they turn up the speed of the production line, the heat generated turns the cathode into a gooey mess. This is stifling production in a major way. Not sure but I suspect it might do the same thing to any silicon added to the anode. As some of us know, graphite is heat resistant.
