Hmm, so a 300 patient trial will cost in the order 10-15 million - presumably there's a capital raise coming to fund that as even in high volume centres that will take quite a while to recruit to.
Locally advanced pancreatic cancers are commonly those attached to major arteries - will be interesting to see what effect prolonged beta irradiation has on the integrity of those vessels. In addition, as I've mentioned in the past, pancreatic cancer is a difficult beast in that it kills by systemic effect on clotting and immune function rather than by liver dysfunction as in hepatoma, so pancreatic cancer brachytherapy may in theory not be as effective as SIRT.
This is still highly speculative, but at 1/3 of the price from when I last looked here it might be a bit closer to its actual value.
