I'm wondering if PR's approach to truthful reporting of reality has leaked into the science - hence the absence of promised peer reviews. I do occasional peer reviews (in unrelated fields) and I know turnaround times can be pretty short, as in a few weeks. I'm increasingly worried by the absence of peer review on top of the corporate and commercial failures.
