I'm no expert but they could very well have been caught by Monday's announcement. They would have been expecting to have until Thursday to close out some of their position. They have done that previously, leaving it until a day or two before the announcement. Their conundrum now being, do they borrow more and try and grind the price lower to close out position. Like Zenox mentioned, there could well be too much demand on the buy side to be able to do this. They could very well have conceded this and started buying back in the last couple of days We won't know until next week. Another positive announcement around now would be GOLD! Agree with you, it would be bloody ballsy to have one last crack at PAR now but can't rule it out.
