This community spirit was very much alive and thriving during the war...when Aussies banded together, and no, it wasn't just the blokes...the women also made many many sacrifices ..front line, nurses, manufacturing, all kinds of things...that Aussie spirit is what we love and thrive on. Mateship..
In America, as most of you would know, the mateship is also alive there and in other countries too. In the USA they respect their military serving folk like nowhere else I've seen. I think it's great to respect and pay homage to those that have died for our nation, to protect us...and continue to serve our nation.
