Within the USA you can get 5 years of exclusivity even on generic drugs if you take them through the FDA approval process. Martin Shkreli did this when he was running Turing Pharmaceuticals with Daraprim [1].
All of this should be somewhere in the PAR announcements, but working out the likely market size and estimating the take up is not a small job.
