The 'flow' tests have really only just started. PTR have not made clear what they are doing precisely but I suspect it is a thorough testing of the existing geothermal reservoir characteristics, as much as that can be done through a single well. This would include the free outflow, and inflows under controlled specific pressures, thus giving some estimate of the transmissivity of the stimulated fractures in the neighbourhood of the well. Some questions that they will probably strive to answer are, what is the total heat flow that can be extracted from the well, will further well perforation be required, over what length, what is the precise temperature at the bottom of well, what is the analysis of the brine solutes, will they come out of solution as the temperature drops, etc? (Some elastic relaxation of the fractures may well have occurred since the stimulation exercise in July.)
A harder figure, highly desired, is some estimate of the rock to fluid contact area. Some of these tests will yield only an approximate idea since final numbers can only be obtained from an actual circulating pair of wells.
Meanwhile, pretty pictures are provided to fracture stimulate shareholder cheque accounts for the SPP.
