yeah, marketing and sales are very different roles. Marketing helps bring the potential customers in, create a positive company image to potential customers, Lead generation, etc. it’s an important role but without a decent sales team to turn that potential into cheques being written with PWN’s name on them then it’s just another cost base.

I’ve worked with good an bad sales guys (I’m technical, not sales) and can say that the really good sales guys are from a different planet to the rest of us. They just have a gift and as much as I often don’t personally get along with the proverbial smarmy used car salesmen, I can admit how important their role is to any business. Sales is where the revenue is generated.
