"The partnership between Melbourne biotech company Cartherics, Hudson Institute of Medical Research, Monash University, Mesoblast and Cell Therapies, plan to start testing their treatments in patients with relapsed ovarian and gastric cancers from next year."
So from this statement they will need a reasonable number of the good cells and MSB hopefully will be able to produce them and they haven't got much time to do it. They must be confident as time frame is mentioned.
Some have suggested that this is a small partnership, I think not so small.
From the announcement,

"Mesoblast and Cartherics will jointly own the intellectual property produced using their combined technologies." Is that a 50 50 split ?
How much money is been paid now for the treatment of solid state cancers ?
And
What would be the value of Mesoblast's own intellectual property ?
I'm not going to compare companies, there's nothing comparable!
And this isn't just around the corner its a long way but the road is also more like a high way than the unmarked trail that we've been going along in the last decade thanks to the FDA.
