Yes as Abgirl suggest, Twitter is an excellent and officially accepted platform for companies to share information quickly and globally to the market. This keeps the market informed and is also an excellent PR vehicle by reaching out to new and potential investors.

Twitter like any technology can of course be used stupidly or wisely. I'm happy as an investor in the way that ARV are using social media.

And as for your comment about 'offloading stock to new investors' I'm not sure how you view the buying and selling of your investments? If someone decided it's time to sell for whatever their personal reasons, how would they know who they are selling too? All the exploration companies I invest in are only too happy to see new investors and the liquidity they bring to the stock. It's a bit hard to sell a stock if no one is buying.

The period I hold varies from company to company. Depends how well I think they're performing. Caveat Emptor !
