I’m not trying to rain on your parade, as I applaud you for trying to think of solutions to the problem at hand. However, having said that, if you had a loved one that was in ICU in a Melbourne hospital, how likely would you be to allow them to be flown to Sydney where due to quarantine restrictions you may never see them again? If it was a proven method that was definitely going to save your loved ones life then sure of course you would agree, but for an unproven trial, most likely not. Also you would not fly a patient from MEL-SYD in a chopper, they are far too slow and do not have the range to make the flight non stop, aeroplane is the only realistic option. That can definitely be done as I have personally transported a TB patient in a tent that way to protect the nurse and crew.
