That was in fact the point of the post...not to jump to conclusions and of insider trading, manipulation or corruption which is what retail does so readily (but you skipped that message and went straight into 'someones having a crack at me' mode). We don't know it was any of those things and usually it isn't (which doesn't mean it doesn't happen either).

Just because GS bought them doesn't mean they weren't bought as a nominee for someone else who wishes to remain anonymous. . Happens all the time especially when a takeover is in play to avoid disclosure and sub notices which would impact price and harm attempts to accumulate. Given that LTR didn't disclose the previous two bids it's quite possible ALB weren't expecting them to disclose the third bid and had GS buy as a nominee to avoid a sub notice.
