The plan is to create a dam bund and divert the water through channeling. This means no pumping, you create a diversion that naturally drains the lake. This is the most common way to deal with surface snow melt.
However given the deposit is so large and growing to the east, any delay and the HADD won't delay the project overall. They can mine to the east where no lake is present.
