With due respect investors should have little confidence in auditors considering recent failures which should've been picked up by auditors. I'm sure most do their job competently but if a company wants to hide some dodgy stuff I'm fairly confident they could somehow get around and do so without being picked up on it by standard checks. From experience, if you don't know what you are looking for you will never find it
