What tools have improved 1000 times ? What tools are going to easily write a logistics system for you that can handle the many rules and laws in each country ?
I have been in IT industry since the 80's and if anything applications have became more complex and generally more buggy.
Cloud has nothing to do with your applications as such just means you don't need to run your own infrastructure you just run on someone else's computers.
