I'm calling BS on all of it. The proof is in the pudding. I buy RFF for the stable div, and they have a VERY stable income stream. Couldn't give a rats-A what some short selling tosser says about asset value. The income is there for all to see (unless that has been somehow fabricated, but I don't know how they could have kept that up for so long).
'Ultimately worthless ' ...to the short selling leaches of the market, because its a steady as a rock.
But I can only go of the info publicly available.
