The number of staff, with varying qualifications, on the floor with children, depends on the actual number of children in the centre at the time, not the number enrolled. This allows Centre's to reduce staff hours and costs, whilst still attracting the Jobkeeper payment.
Centre managers need to be brought out of their offices and counted in on the floor numbers.
During this time and for the next three months, they must work hard at gaining the trust of families, building bonds with families and their communities, albeit through distance to ensure that when the government decide free childcare is no longer sustainable there will be very little effect on their occupancy levels.
Connection and planning forward for positive outcomes will be what secures occupancy. A good time for GC to organise webinars with groups of parents in various locations.
