    They have to approve it but they dont nessesarily need to verify the announcement unless it could be misleading the share holder.
    A company could say that they are on track for their sales in the Fiscal year and that would be fine.
    A company would get checked if they said they're projecting to exceed there sales 10x in the fiscal year
