I did some digging.
for ASX, as we already know/appreciate, a trading halt is a voluntary decision of the company . They would initiate it for things like market sensitive notices.
market pause, however is not a voluntary decision of the company. It is a decision by the ASX itself, when they think an incoming market notice requires it.
given the unsolicited spool up today, it'd be safe to assume it's good news which leaked.
however, if the trading paused, why did the SP reduce back down after the pause.
