Thats right. Australia (ie scomo/smirko) should have known better than to get into a fight with China.
We never worried about US atrocities in Vietnam, or the US stealing the Guantanamo bay area from Cuba, or remember that the British stole Hong Kong from China during the opium wars or worry about Trumps racist comments about the Chinese virus. We get into stupid fights with our biggest trading partner - a fight in which it is apparent Australia has absolutely no capacity to retaliate.
The Australian Government has no strategy to repair relations. Things are going to get worse and worse until something cracks on the Australian side.
