Yeah I have been wondering the same as its seems pretty dumb to short this. Oil and particularly gas prices have been on a tear recently and are expected to go even higher due to increased demand and lack of investment in this sector.
I was thinking that they are betting on the deal with OSH encountering roadblocks. But what you are stating (OSH holders hedging) sounds like a more reasonable explanation.
