indeed rumours ‘reports are that a lot of the LME nickel spike was related to unwinding of hedges in the 20-25k/t range. Reported as related to tjingshan and as much as a usd8B loss. I am not sure how all that can be verified but the spike happened and lme intervention was unprecedented.
