Can't see any logic to that thinking at all. LTR are going mining as they keep telling all who listen. So no LTR insider would have any reason to leak such a silly TO rumour, especially with the silly low price. We all know that anything under $5+ is a waste of time, even journos should know that by now if they read HC.

But where there still might be some smoke, is that the rebuttal only states that there has been no further take over offers of any kind received. It doesn't mention any other kind of offers including JV's, so maybe there is still something confidential brewing along those lines? Seems that's ALB's only path forward now.
