I've seen the quote "material to the company" a couple of times before. Well, any CR is material, isn't? To the SHs perhaps even more so.
As this is a 'let's speculate' thread, my guess is they are offering an equity in the business to potentially a larger partner/company which, hopefully, opens more doors to walk with their platform through.
