If you're using Windows you can use Character Map. Find the character you want, click "Select". Build up a sequence if you want multiple characters then click "Copy". You can paste into any text container. Note the "Keystroke" in the bottom-right. Hold the Alt key down and type the four digits on the numeric keypad on your keyboard. When you release Alt the character will appear.
