I don't think it's unnecessary journalism, I actually entirely agree the disclosure was poor (maybe crappy is a bit harsh!) by not mentioning the price nor type of offer.
How to explain the apparently very specific % gain in the share price when even an indicative price is not public knowledge?
Sure you could have a 'educated guess' at what a typical premium might be, but the SP went to ~$1.40 almost instantly after trading pause ended and has stayed there abouts.
That looks fishy to me, namely that some in the know have inside knowledge and are trading on that.
The rest of us (or maybe it's just me!!) don't have a clue what premium, albeit highly conditional, is even on the table.
Requesting a trading pause / halt, then saying yes there's a takeover offer but there's no further detail makes little sense.
