The 'pause announcement' (the first announcement today) is a proforma announcement made by the ASX . The ASX knows and anticipates that APX will need to respond, as every company needs to, and that response is an announcement. What you are either unable to understand, or willfully blind to, is that the 'pause announcement' was initiated by the ASX by its own motion as it always does in these circumstances, and in reaction to that APX then requested a 'trading halt'.
APX have not chosen to be in this situation today, they are reacting to and dealing with the ASX stopping trade in their shares until it can clarify, or not, why the share price has been behaving as it has been.
I will not continue debating this mind numbingly boring aspect of nothingness.
