Yet this is what happens time and time again. Nobody likes buying above what they perceive as fair value. A cap raise, especially with dilution and conducted with sophs, creates a very public 'price' from what people perceive as someone more in the know than your average trader. Thus very few are usually willing to queue up and pay above that perceived value.
You can say who knows, but this is a pretty common outcome.
