Blue hydrogen? What a complete waste of time.

The world needs Green hydrogen. Blue hydrogen is a failure of imagination, and a convenient way to keep the fossil fuels flowing.

And as renewables massively scale up (especially in Australia where we have massive solar potential), we price carbon (which will happen in every country, regardless of what the laggards believe), and we develop cheaper electrolysers (prices coming down with large scale wind initiatives), blue hydrogen projects will quickly become non viable, stranded assets.

"The oil and gas industry hopes to prolong the economic life of stranded assets by converting gas into so-called "blue" hydrogen on an industrial scale, where the CO2 by-product is captured and stored. But critics argue that only "green" hydrogen, produced from electrolysis using renewable power, should be allowed."
