There has been considerable discussion around how well Mopane is progressing towards FID and possible farmout. It is a shaping up as a world class discovery but the commercially test is yet to come. On the Mopane map below outline, I have annotated on, at the same scale, PCL's Oryx and Hyrax prospects/leads. I have only annotated Oryx and Hyrax and we as progressing multiple other leads.
Mopane comprises several AVO anomalies at various depths. Mopane is not one large, connected AVO anomaly although AVO-1 and AVO-3 are laterally extensive over 8 and 10kms. The Oryx Type II AVO anomaly represents the largest connected sand body at up to 144km
2 so let assume over 12kms x 12kms. Compares favourably with Mopanes AVO-1 and AVO-2 perhaps?
Anyway, I am taking a deep breath after losing bundle today (paper loss only) to sensibly consider today's release review more of the subsurface data. Take some time to look at the Oryx and Hyrax AVO II outlines below and how they compare with Mopanes outline. I would like to see stratigraphic horizon information annotation on our seismic lines going forward.
