PEP11 is offshore in federal waters.

NSW get to have a opinion but ultimately its the Federal government that makes the decision as its in federal waters.

Theoretically NSW could ban oil and gas infrastructure but that still wouldn't stop PEP11 being drilled offshore in Federal waters.

Lets just say PEP11 bears fruit and they hit gas.

They could basically process the gas offshore and then export via LNG if they wanted and the NSW government couldn't do jack..

This being said Advent have previously indicated that they would supply the local east coast market to suppress the east coast gas crisis and ultimately putting downward pressure on the cost of living.

The solution to banning onshore oil and gas infrastructure is heavy floored as there is already a gas pipeline running straight past PEP11 not to mention a huge LNG tank located at Tomago in NSW.

If NSW banned gas infrastructure and Advent went the export route the price of wholesale gas would go from roughly $10Gj to $40Gj which would actually benefit BPH.

    The idea is stupid.
