I don't normally post on HC but SPR has given my portfolio a welcome boost, thanks to the great contributors here and SL and the SPR team. Been a holder since GCY days well before SL got into the picture and have participated in all CRs and going longer in the past 18 months.
I attach here for general informaiton, some simple analysis using pivot tables on SPR trade session for Fri 30/08 from the full trade data extricated from Commsec. Apologies if someone had already done so above previously.
The trades last Fri were mainly loaded towards afterhours with over 70% of the volume and value coming in post normal trading hours ie >16:00 to 16:40 thereabouts. All the large trades including those orders above 1m shares came in during that time period.
What can be postulated from the transaction activity for the day? Not sure but it could be one of the following or a mix of these:
> RMS hoovering more?
> Another potential goldie bidder in the midst?
> Sector ETF(s) or index funds loading up?
> End of month closing of short positions by some fund managers?
> Some brokers going long pre-empting SPR move into ASX200?
Not entirely sure what happened on Friday with the serious afterhours uptick in volument and value pushing the price to all-time high and also the "games" being played on Wed-Thu last week with the Pepper infill assay announcement, but I am digging the ride for the long haul .......
No advice and pls DYOR.
