Spartan makes a spicy 27.01m at 39.15g/t gold hit at Pepper prospect
Initial assays from a new phase of diamond drilling at Spartan Resources’ Pepper prospect have returned a stunning 27.01m intersection grading 39.15g/t gold.

Special Report: Spartan Resources continues to add more spice to its Dalgaranga project after initial assays from a new phase of surface diamond drilling at the Pepper prospect returned a 27.01m hit grading 39.15g/t gold.



The assays confirmed very consistent high-grade gold mineralisation between the initial discovery and definition intersections used in the July 2024 estimate, which penned in a maiden inferred resource of 1.78Mt at 7.65g/t gold for Pepper.

What this means is that Spartan Resources’ (ASX:SPR) campaign to convert the existing inferred resource to the higher confidence indicated category, which provides enough certainty for mine planning, is off to a very good start indeed.

To make it that much more impressive, the 27.01m at 39.15g/t gold intersection (DGDH074) works up to an impressive 1057.4 grams X metres, the top result from the project to date, while another assay of 19.57m at 22.06g/t gold (431.7 grams X metres) in DGDH074-W1 from the same set of drill results is an entirely respectable fourth-best intercept to date.

Interim executive chairman Simon Lawson said the company’s discovery and subsequent establishment of a nearly million-ounce resource at Never Never through to the discovery of Pepper in April 2024, informs the company’s now well-established drill strategy to build resource confidence and growing high-grade ounces.

Pepper supports Dalgaranga mine plan
“From discovery, Pepper has returned some of the best drill intercept assays seen at Dalgaranga including several top 20 project intercepts,” he added.

“These latest intercepts, DGDH074 and DGDH074-W1, are important infill holes targeting conversion of Inferred to higher confidence indicated resource classification, but also rank number one and four all-time for the Dalgaranga gold project.
"Our focused push for indicated ounces at Pepper with two dedicated diamond drill rigs is aimed at delineating additional higher-confidence ounces for conversion to ore reserves, as we work towards our PFS and FID targets.

“Pepper high-grade ounces supplement those defined at Never Never and will further strengthen our goal of establishing a long-life, sustainable and profitable mine plan for Dalgaranga.”

The Pepper prospect is the company’s priority for infill and extensional drilling throughout the second half of 2024.
