Your introductory paragraph hardly endears posters to your argument.

Although I agree that the company is wise in keeping a good balance sheet, what most here are complaining about is the price at which it was done.
A %40 discount when the sp was rising fairly strongly after many years of stagnation.

Most, I think feel that it could have been done at a higher price especially if, as we were told, that the instos were very keen to get in to PER.

Holders who have struggled for years to come up with the funds to keep PER afloat, understandably feel peeved by the 40% discount, which if the directors were worth their salt, could have done a much better job of negotiating a better price.

It was not so much the fact that they raised now , even though we were previously told there would be no need, but that it was done when we were on the cusp of what most feel will be a significant announcement, which would have given us a stronger hand in the talks.
I think the instos also think we are on this cusp which is why they wanted in now

Lets face it, if we don't have a great announcement coming it will be catastrophic for the sp.
Maybe this is what management also are worried about or I feel they would have been stronger.
