Patents are of real value only if you have a product that is selling. Patents then allow you to potentially charge a premium up to the point the buyer will bear as well as preventing competitors producing the product and taking the market and premium.
ALT has no sales to speak of and with economies entering recession it is hard to see how they haven't completely missed the opportunity to sell to a global company.
