Investors can hopefully look forward to a positive announcement for the approval of the anode refinery this Friday



Then it is just over two weeks until the Swedish Environmental Court hands down its verdict on the mining approval - April 5.

For those that recall the Euroz Hartley broker report, they stated they would upgrade Talga to a BUY rather than Speculative BUY upon granting of the mining approval. With Talga now included in the ASX300, it will be interesting to see if other institutions will similarly view Talga as investable if they can secure both the anode refinery and mining permits in the next few weeks.

I'm particularly looking forward to updates on the offtake and financing strategy post permit decision. Clearly MT wouldn't have cut the Mitsui umbilical cord early if he didn't have superior alternative financing options available to Talga at a lower cost and less dilutive to shareholders. The big question is: do we still need a 'strategic partner' to invest in the project or can Talga pursue a larger raising of debt via EU institutions & backing via the CRM & NZI Acts.

Out of interest, it looks like VW is still planning to invest directly in miners to secure their raw material supply.

According to Benchmark last week, there will only be 1 anode company in Europe (Talga) producing anode at scale by 2030. Talga have priortised Germany for the initial site selction and rollout of Talnode-Si perhaps due to proximity to potential customers. Hopefully hear more on Talnode Si in April - should be very interesting to see who the lead customer is.
