The update doesn't tell me a lot other than they are getting their modelling right.
From what I can ascertain, modelling is a very important aspect of technology development.
The modelling for PWEP would have been built around data gained by assessing earlier Ceto models tested inside Cockburn Sound.
Now they are assessing a bigger model in a higher energy environment nearshore, on the seaward side of Garden Island. The data collected from this site should assist them to create modelling for the next demonstration array which will be further offshore in an even higher energy environment.
Even though it is a long and drawn out process, it is reassuring that their modelling to date at least meets expectations.
The winter period offers the sea conditions to fully test the technology. If it meets expectations, it will give the green light for commercialisation in locations that experience consistently higher energy conditions year round.
The Southern Australian coastline, Chile and the UK all fall into that category.
