I would have thought it was fairly obvious, but there is big potential in the NT, and people are relatively keen to invest in the NT. Perfect opportunity to have a JV partner help AJQ's debt position and reap the rewards of exploration up there, which is what the spin off does except that it does not allow AJQ to reap the rewards - an new company will. AJQ's remaining assets have proven to be very difficult to bring online, so they are a liability in my view as production is on the edge and could flop at any minute. Of course they might get a few more wells flowing nicely, but that remains to be seen and the last few years history has shown this to be very difficult. I just don't understand the need to split the assets out. Just my opinion, and there are plenty of arguments for the opposite, like I said happy to be proven wrong. I think the share price performance is a reflection of the risk though.
