The parlous state of Australia’s housing market is probably the nation’s greatest economic and social challenge. But Owen Wilson, chief executive of REA Group, says conditions are next door to perfect for the online classifieds giant.
Demand for homes is surging, thanks in no small part to population growth. Supply is good, with listings sitting around six-year averages. And the interest rate backdrop is looking more benign than it has in two years, with increases seemingly off the table, and cuts predicted in the second half of the year
