Okay, so I'm sorry to keep harping on about this but so far no one has come back to me with any ideas or theories about why RA's comment about the MPL manufacturing is holding up a deal. Maybe it's just me that thinks this is a very important point?

To Recap, in the AGM, RA is asked a question on if a deal could maybe done prior to the phase 2b results? RA replies that it has grown more complicated, and that questions have been raised as to whether PAA's MPL is BETTER than the original MPL. This seems to be holding up an agreement.........Now why would this be? The only theory I can come up with is that the "interested" party is worried that standard MPL (possibly from Elanco?) will not cut the mustard and they'll have to buy PAA's patented manufactured MPL (and they don't want to). PAA will IMO want to keep their rights and ownership intact for the new MPL manufacturing IP as this is so important for the taste, tolerability and importantly the ongoing human trials? We know that the original MPL tablets did not work out to well, so the work that PAA has done (and I believe patented) to make the MPL dog friendly could IMO very well be a stumbling block. PAA would not want to give this up as they want it to protect the potentially huge Human commercial treatments but VM (Elanco?) maybe worried that just using their MPL will result in the same failed tolerability issues that the saw in the first trials.
So, possibly there is a VM that wants to move forward on the doggie deal but wants to hammer out how (if/when commecialised) they would get the MPL as it would not be as simple as just using MPL manufactured in the Elanco way. PAA are currently testing the NEW MPL in humans and are likely very protective of the new MPL tablets (considering the time, effort and money which has gone into them). Also, PAA IMO see the human treatment for various ailments as the true pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and the doggie deal as just a stepping stone to that. The quandary then (if I'm right) is how to give VM assurity of MPL supply while not selling the new manufacturing method as well? I'm sure that there are ways and means to do this but as RA said, it's complicated.

Bottom line though is that we've got something that looks good. And if my above drivel is correct then the BoD are fighting to find a way to get the funding to see the human trials progress while not giving away too much IP to get a doggie deal over the line. Yes we are short of cash right now, yes things seem to be moving at a glacial speed but that could change real quick if we get any sort of positive outcome from the MND trial.

Perhaps the issue is quantity related i.e. available quantity of the NEW MPL and the ability of PAA to guarantee supply arising out of any deal knowing that sufficient supply needs to be available for all of PAA's other trials.
