Thanks Densy, yeah I forgot about those dogs that are already in the trial but waiting for bloods or whatever.
I've just rewatched the video with Dr Kim and I must say that I was more positive about the message that he was giving than the first time that I watched it. The take away for me was that they needed to get the message across to BP that this was a new way of looking at treating cancer in dogs. At the moment most vets will offer to refer the dog to another oncology specialist vet (big bucks) or prescribe Prednisolone with all its side effects and poor outcome. Dr Kim was saying that the challenge is to show BP that there is a new market where your average (non-cancer specialist) vet can offer a much better outcome of longer life (and better quality as well) by offering Prednisolone and MPL. I believe that he was saying that the results so far have already shown this and that it is now just up to PAA to convince BP of the business case.
IMHO even if the trial is completed with the 18 dogs achieving SD they will still need to convince BP of this big opportunity (due to them not getting the big returns that they'd hoped for from the last few cancer drugs that they've bought). IMO Roger could already have a lowball deal if he wanted one but is holding out for more if we can achieve the 18 dogs with SD. I suspect this may be more important a result when we come to trying to get a partner for the human cancer trials. But as you say Densy the results so far have shown the fact that SD or PD is not a factor in how long the dog (and maybe future humans) actually live (i.e. how long can BP keep on selling them the treatment). I'm 99% sure we will get a deal of some sort to help get us through the phase 3 doggie trials, I suspect RA is waiting to get some firm results from the MND trial so he knows what the true value is of what he is selling. In a nutshell then, the really big hope for me is that the MND trial shows excellent safety results as well, this will mean we can move on with the phase 2 HUMAN cancer trials in the USA. As we all know, this is the big deal, even with the K9 results so far showing MPL can extend life and importantly quality of life. We'd be onto a winner, but we need those safety results from the MND trial first. Sorry, nothing new here of course. Just rambling while waiting for the next fireside chat video.
