I had the same concern until I realised the cause. The patients with higher scores (mostly cohort 2) aren't included as the dot points move along past 7 months. The straight line is taken from zero to 7 months as this is the only period where all 12 pateints are included. At 12 months there are only 5 patients data included with large variation of scores which is why the standard deviation is so large. Hope that makes sense.
