Elanco participated in the trial design from the very beginning and was consulted all the way through, that's why we weren't really concerned about the dog numbers (although perhaps we should have been - so I'll concede a point there to you).

But more importantly,

MPL produced results in that 2020 dog lymphoma trial in terms of longevity that were not superior to that rival chemo based product Elanco had invested heavily in just a little earlier. (The next dog lymphoma trial produced better results).

MPL was causing appetance issues in the dogs which had not been solved. (The next dog lymphoma trial produced better results).

MPL's biphasal property had not been discovered until that trial, and it was only in the next trial this property was taken advantage of in determining dosages (and redesign of the pills).

Elanco had to decide if to stick with what it had invested in and go with our product and Elanco was under severe financial pressure due the costs of merging with another company.
