I wouldn't be so cynical to suggest that PWS Ph2 pause is anything to do with not fitting in to a takeover timeline.

The idea you would delay and screw potential beneficiaries of treatment merely because you expect to be taken over before Ph2 completed would seem pretty amoral. I would take the reason for the pause as the stated reason, not a guessed one. Any potential acquirer would rather see an indication further down the road to approval than not, so it doesn't even make sense to assume that is why the pause.
